Default Hello

Hi Guys,
Logged in today after a very long break. Have been extremely busy with work and have recently bought a PS3 so busy playing MW2.
Hows the ETQW scene. You guys still playing?

If anyone is playing MW2 on PS3 then let me know and add me (orange_dwarf).

Take care
Death

Hey D,

I upgraded to Win7 and discovered my gfx was 'legacy' and not to be given win7 drivers so I too have been out of games for a while.

Upgraded then went straight into BFBC2 - shiny, fast , lots of bullets... cross between MW2 and ETQW really

Nope. Pingu2, therein lies a story.

Wouldn't boot. No post beeps, nothin'. MB reading 'FF' after no boot cycle - forums suggested it were deed. That was after trying to boot outside case with 1 Ram, no HD's so no power issues.

Bought new mobo - Wouldn't boot. No post beeps, nothin'. That was after trying to boot outside case with 1 Ram, no HD's so no power issues.

Bought new CPU - Wouldn't boot. No post beeps, nothin'. That was after trying to boot outside case with 1 Ram, no HD's so no power issues.

So, thought I, it couldn't be the heatsink fan could it? It was spinning up, slowing down as the mobo turned itself off, spinning up slowing down as the mobo turned itself off - but maybe not quick enough?

Changed for the new CPU stock fan - works a treat

So I still got your CPU and mobo, just need a new heatsink and fan (or even just a fan) and split the RAM for a new PC

Ah well. Thanks anyway - I have a shiny new PC that Gill reckons I got by stealth lol !

Oh bummer - I did say that I wasn't sure it was the right fan/cooler (cos I had been using it watercooled)! Could you not have returned the new MB/CPU when you realised the old ones were OK though?

Oh well maybe you can build a spare computer for the shed

Well, I had already put the new CPU/MB into a shiny quiet new case

I haven't actually tested yours again yet - need a new cooler which I'll get next pay cycle lol

Before doing all this, I had been waiting to sort your components before inserting the new 5770 gfx card, but BFBC2 beta arrived so I tried putting it in before upgrading - and discovered "Wouldn't boot. No post beeps, nothin'."

I had a look around on the Ati forums and found a well known issue that 5770's do not work with socket 939 MB's. So I still had the 1800XT which doesn't work with Win7...

It's sorted now though !
